HIMSS Europe 2018 Presents Opportunities to Expand Footprint in European Healthcare IT Sector
Sitges, Spain, which is just outside of Barcelona, was the site of one of the most important e-Health events in Europe - HIMSS Europe 2018, held last month, May 27 - 29, 2018. One of First Line Software’s worldwide strategies is focusing on the Healthcare IT sector. During the past few years we have built up a solid Healthcare IT Practice in our Boston location, including a recent acquisition. We are now focusing on expanding our e-Healthcare Practice into Europe which made participating as a sponsor at HIMSS Europe 2018 a priority.
The three sunny days spent in Sitges were fully occupied with meetings, workshops, and presentations. The most important topic of the event was the role of patients in the health process ‒ specifically as it relates to patient behavior. Many companies are focusing on healthcare data-sharing - not simply clinical data, but mostly patient data concerning its behavior on daily basis.
During the event, we met with First Line partners, such as InterSystems, to explore and discuss new opportunities for cooperation. At the moment First Line Software is investing its effort into the development of a healthcare IT practice in The Netherlands. We are working with local institutes and medical centers, while also participating on projects related to supporting Healthcare ICT startups as they go live with their solutions and platforms. One of our success stories is a startup named YAPILI, which has launched a telemedicine platform that helps people from remote areas within Africa connect with doctors in The Netherlands and other countries throughout the world.
