AI-Driven Recruitment: The Optimizely CMS Talent Portal

Challenge

At the Optimizely Hackathon 2024, participants were tasked with creating innovative solutions using the new Optimizely SaaS CMS platform. The main goal of the Hackathon was to showcase the new platform’s capabilities through various solutions, ranging from web applications to services. A mandatory requirement for all teams was to integrate AI tools into their solutions to demonstrate the potential of combining AI with the platform. As part of this challenge, the First Line Software team presented a project to simplify talent search and company recruitment processes.

Solution

The solution proposed by the team was the Optimizely Talent Portal, a platform for talent management that leverages AI capabilities to enhance searching for the perfect fit.

For Job Seekers:

Resume Creation from Scratch: Candidates can create a resume from scratch by manually filling in fields like skills, experience, and certifications. The AI will generate a professional “About Me” section based on the entered information to enhance their profile.

Automated Profile Filling from Uploaded CV: Alternatively, candidates can upload their existing CV, and the AI will automatically fill in the required fields on the portal. The AI will also generate a summary, providing a cohesive overview of the candidate’s qualifications.

AI-powered Job Matching: The Optimizely CMS portal’s AI engine analyzes a candidate’s skills, experience, and preferences to suggest job openings that are a good fit automatically. This intelligent matching system provides candidates with tailored job recommendations, increasing the likelihood of finding suitable opportunities that align with their career goals.

Advanced Search and Filtering System: Job seekers can easily browse and filter job listings based on criteria such as location, industry, salary, and experience level. The system offers intuitive filters, making finding the most suitable positions quickly simple.

AI-powered Interview Assistant: The Optimizely CMS platform offers an AI-driven assistant that helps job seekers prepare for interviews by providing personalized guidance, common interview questions, and tips based on the specific job they are applying for. The assistant analyzes the job requirements, generates relevant interview questions for the candidate, and, based on the dialogue, provides a summary and recommendations on areas for improvement to help the candidate better prepare for an actual interview.

Personalized Notifications for Job Matches: The platform delivers real-time notifications about new job postings that match a candidate’s profile. This feature ensures that job seekers are always up-to-date with the latest opportunities and can act quickly when a relevant position becomes available.

Job Listing Management: Employers can create and manage job postings with ease. The platform allows detailed job descriptions, requirements, and benefits to attract the most suitable applicants.

Advanced Candidate Search: Hiring managers can easily find the most suitable candidates using the advanced search and filtering system. This feature allows them to filter candidates based on specific criteria such as skills, experience, location, and more, ensuring a quick and efficient recruitment process.

AI-powered Candidate Screening and Matching: The AI assistant helps hiring managers by automatically screening candidate profiles and matching them with job requirements. It suggests the most qualified candidates, reducing the time spent on manual review and improving the quality of hires.

The solution was developed using a modern and scalable technology stack, ensuring high performance and ease of use. Optimizely SaaS CMS served as the core platform for managing content and data, with Optimizely GraphQL enabling efficient data retrieval. Next.js and Vercel ensured fast front-end and back-end integration, while the Postgres Database provided robust data storage. Coveo-powered search functionality and OpenAI enhanced the platform with AI-driven CV analysis, suggestions, and interview preparation.
