First Line Software Endorses Personal Health Train (PHT) Manifesto, Joins PHT Consortium
The Personal Health Train (PHT) initiative is designed to promote the increased usage of existing biomedical data to conduct research associated with personalized health and medicine, preventive medicine, and value-based healthcare. It is built on the theme of a railway with a complex system of checks and balances that ensure maximum privacy protection and maximum engagement of individual patients and citizens.
Bringing research to data versus bringing data to research is a key concept associated with PHT, which is designed to provide controlled access to heterogeneous data sources, with specific mandates. The non-negotiable prerequisite is that health data be made FAIR – Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable. The FAIR data principles were developed by a broad community of global stakeholders to facilitate data stewardship and promote open science.
