Visual recognition mobile application for counting forestry materials
Our Customer had previously tested off-the-shelf software products and then decided a custom solution was needed to precisely count their materials.
The goal of a timber industry holding company was to improve accounting and control systems in production. To do this, the customer needed to develop a mobile application for the automatic counting of production.
First Line Software created a visual recognition algorithm and, based on it, developed a customized mobile app for automatically counting sheet materials.
The functionality of the program is as follows:
- the user points the smartphone camera at the stack of materials,
- the application recognizes the plywood in the photo counts the layers and informs the user of the result (the number of layers in the stack).
As a result, despite the extremely simplified implementation of the algorithm, the pilot project turned out to be laconic and showed its effectiveness.
