Events in the Netherlands Showcase How to Transform Healthcare and Achieve Success in E-commerce

E-Health Week Netherlands

The opening event for E-Health Week 2020 was held for the fourth year on January 27, 2020, at the AFAS Circustheater, The Hague.

Conference organizers structured the event programming to provide informative workshops and introduce innovations in digital care at the Inspiration market. Attendees included a range of health industry professionals – nurses, patient representatives, scientists, purchasing, finance, and innovation managers from healthcare organizations, startups, healthcare companies, research institutes, suppliers and municipalities. The First Line Software team held many interesting discussions about opportunities for collaboration and partnerships.

What was especially useful about this conference is that participants could put what they learned into practice the very next day and take their next steps toward transforming patient care. A transformation process was introduced that included the following five steps:

  1. Start by asking “Which concrete issue do we need to solve and why?”
  2. Invest in people to teach them how to deal with new technologies and adapt to the changes that come with patient care transformation.
  3. Collaborate in networks to share best practices and establish partnerships. Adjust care processes to incorporate new technologies and enable digital care.
  4. Explore options for funding your transformation.
  5. Establish a solid cost-benefit analysis and build a business case that resonates with the finance team. Research grant options.

“Transforming patient care is important and will take focused efforts to make the necessary changes that are no longer optional. Fortunately, this event offered plenty of useful guidance as well as numerous networking opportunities among healthcare professionals and technology providers.”

The two-day event covered a broad range of topics including B2B e-commerce, logistics & fulfillment, platform economy, content & branding, strategy & growth, cross border, marketing automation & email, user experience & CRO, and more.
