Nick is a veteran entrepreneur and business executive with a proven track record in building successful global technology organizations.
Nick earned his M.Sc. degree in 1983. Prior to starting his own business, Nick worked for the Institute of Linguistics of the Academy of Sciences as a researcher in the field of computational linguistics and natural language processing.
In 1991 Nick founded StarSoft, the private software engineering firm. During the next 15 years as CEO of StarSoft, he developed the company into a premier software services provider catering to clients in North America and Europe. Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, the company employed 700 engineers.
In 2007 StarSoft merged with Exigen Services. In his role as head of delivery in the joint company for the next three years, Nick was responsible for business development, managing customer relationships, and running the 1,500-staff operations in 10 R&D centers in 6 countries across Europe, Baltics and China.
Nick is the co-founder of First Line Software and serves as the company’s President and Chairman of the Board. He holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Informatics of the Academy of Sciences.
Nick’s hobbies include running, tennis, and golf, but his greatest passion by far is soccer. He has six sons and lives with his family in US.
As First Line’s COO, Alexander Pozdniakov is responsible for the company’s strategy, for driving the business development efforts, and for the operations of the delivery organization in its entirety.
Alexander is a 20-year veteran of the IT industry. He started his IT career in 1993 when he successfully managed the implementation of one of the first electronic banking projects. Alexander's experience over the next several years includes a broad array of system integration and IT transformation projects spanning many industries and countries, and affecting thousands of users worldwide.
Alexander’s career in software services started in 1999 when he joined StarSoft (private software engineering firm that shares founders with First Line) as a Project Manager. Alexander quickly rose through the ranks and finally achieving the position of the COO in 2004, in which he served for the next 5 years both before and after StarSoft’s merger with Exigen Services in 2007. Alexander managed the entire production staff including multiple development, testing and process groups, while also supervising many supplementary functions across the company such as HRM, Hiring and Technical Support. During that period, Alexander directed the growth of the delivery organization from 100 to almost 1,500 people, managing 8 separate delivery locations.
Alexander is a great fan of traveling to the most exotic locations on the planet.
Mike Medaglia has over 25 years of experience in the high technology sector where he has consulted on manufacturing automation, managed software development, managed multi-million dollar programs, and excelled in direct sales and channels building for global corporations. Starting out as a Senior Consultant with Digital Equipment Corporation for manufacturing automation Mike consulted on MRP implementations and helped design and then deliver custom manufacturing automation applications for Digital’s Fortune 100 clients. Mike has been fortunate in working for five successful start-up companies in their Services, Alliance, Channel, and Sales strategies including Exodus Communications in the build up to its highly successful IPO.
Prior to First Line Software, Mike’s most recent work was with Exigen Services for nearly five years as Managing Director of the Americas where he led Sales, Revenue, and Customer Services in building the Americas territory to more than $8M in annual revenue. Mike is a member of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) where he is a Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP). He is also a certified Agile Scrum Product Owner. His education includes Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Massachusetts.
When he isn’t working, Mike can be found hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and boating on the Merrimack River. He also recommends David McCullough’s The Great Bridge for an excellent read on how great engineers can complete breathtaking achievements while neutralizing political control and influence – not unlike the challenges in software engineering today.
Andrew Zaikin started his career as a software developer soon after graduating from the university in 1999 with a degree in Computer Science. Andrew’s first project at StarSoft (First Line’s predecessor) was a large system development effort for Denmark’s Department of Taxation. At StarSoft, Andrew was quickly promoted to technical leadership roles and eventually to management. Over time, Andrew has made critical contributions to multiple major projects delivered by the company for its international customers, including CSC, Daimler, Deutsche Bank, IBM, Intel, Standard & Poor’s, T-Mobile, Bonnier and others. His diverse technological experience ranges from exotic environments like OS/2, SYSTEM/390 and vxWorks to the more mainstream enterprise application development projects using Microsoft .NET or Java.
In his role as First Line’s VP of Technology, Andrew drives global technical presales activities, oversees internal product development, and harmonizes software engineering processes across the entire delivery organization. He is also the company’s lead project rescue consultant.
In his free time, Andrew enjoys hacking network-enabled hardware using tools like Bus Pirate and Wireshark. He also serves as one the administrators of Wikipedia.
Ilia Blaer is a Deputy CEO at First Line Software and thrives on the creation of software solutions, the organization of a full production cycle, the development of new accounts, the assignment of tasks among developers, as well as the professional development of employees. More than 200 engineers are now working under his leadership. Currently his team is developing more than 50 software applications and information systems for customers in Russia, Western Europe and the United States.
Ilia graduated from the ITMO University as a systems engineer. He began his career as a testing engineer at StarSoft (the predecessor of First Line Software). Next he participated in the development of an information system for a European health organization. Most recently he has successfully led many large and complex First Line Software projects, such as: the ERP system development for a major manufacturer of plastic tableware in Germany, the creation of an analytical system for an association of health organizations in the United States, the development of a government services platform in St. Petersburg within the framework of the program "Digital Russia".
Ilia lives in St. Petersburg and is raising two sons. His hobbies are roller skating, running, and playing football.
David Tedford has over 20 years of sales experience within the IT/software industry. He excels at sales, business development, channel development, sales cycle management, negotiations, and sales team management.
David has been working in the technology industry for over 30 years starting out as a software developer, then moving into a presales role within a software company, before finally pursuing his passion in a sales capacity at multiple technology organizations over the past 20 years.
Prior to first Line Software, David was the National Sales Manager for Rentsys Recovery Services where he managed a team of sales reps across the country while also maintaining a book of business with an annual quota of over $8 million. David enjoyed the player / coach responsibility but primarily loves providing solutions to customer challenges.
Back in March 2017, David joined First Line Software as Vice President and will be responsible for creating visibility and awareness globally and ultimately growing top line revenue. David is excited about this opportunity and is enjoying working with a team of pioneers in the software development industry.
David received his undergraduate degree in CIS from Quinnipiac University in 1987 and went on to graduate school at the University of Massachusetts where he received his MBA in 2002. In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with family and friends in the mountains of NH or on the beaches of FL.
VP Business Development
As the head of business development for First Line Software in Moscow, Vladimir heads up business development in Russia and Western Europe.
Vladimir began his career in IT in 2002, when, as a student of Faculty of Automation of Computer Science of the First Electrotechnical University (ETU “LETI”), he began his work at The Morfizpribor Central Research Institute (CRI). Vladimir joined the StarSoft team (predecessor of First Line Software) in 2004 as a Junior Software Developer. As he gained experience with more and more projects, he was promoted to leadership roles.
Currently Vladimir is responsible for the launch of many large projects for both Russian and foreign clients including the development of a monitoring system for street parking in the center of Moscow, the creation of a public services portal within the program “Digital Russia”, and custom software solutions for an international humanitarian project initiated by the University of Leiden (the Netherlands) among others.
Head of Healthcare IT Practice
Anatoly Postilnik is the Head of the Global Healthcare Practice at First Line Software, where he oversees and brings together company's engagements in Healthcare and Life Sciences under single leadership. Anatoly has more than 30 years of technology, product development, and solutions delivery experience, including over 18 years in the Healthcare Industry.
In the course of his extensive career in Healthcare IT and through his work with the business and clinical leadership, physicians and researchers of Healthcare institutions, Anatoly has developed deep understanding of complex workflows in Healthcare and Medical Informatics. He knows how to address their challenges. Anatoly uses this knowledge and experience to build a stellar delivery team that makes every client engagements in the Healthcare space a success story.
Prior to joining First Line Software Anatoly has held worked and lead implementations and consulting engagements for a number of institutions and commercial companies, such as Partners Healthcare, Fidelity Investments, Schlumberger Technologies as well as a number of others. He holds M.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics and Structural Engineering.
Anatoly resides in Boston, MA. He is an avid hiker and has reached numerous mountain tops in Europe, Eastern an Western United States, and Asia.
Sergey Yurasov graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University (NNSTU) with a red diploma in 2003, which indicates he graduated with the highest scores possible in every discipline. In 2007 he defended his thesis on the topic: "Development and research of information management algorithms for a distributed information system with mobile agents".
Earlier in 1999, when he was in his second year of university, Sergey began his career in programming as a Java developer, honing his professional skills while working on projects for customers from the US and Russia. In 2003, he transferred to the Intel-based development center in Nizhny Novgorod, where he developed embedded software for system devices using Intel processors. He continued his work in the division and became responsible for automating business processes while advancing to leadership roles in the field of project management.
Sergey has been working for First Line Software since 2008 and is responsible for the growth of the Nizhny Novgorod development center. During his tenure, the division has grown to 50+ specialists. Sergey is responsible for the full cycle of the center's work: from the technical components of projects, interaction with staff, administrative management and business strategy to increase awareness of the First Line Software brand in the Volga region.
Sergey lives in Nizhny Novgorod together with his family. He is fond of fine-tuning cars and he also has a blog about cars.
Sergey Popov graduated with a degree in Computer Science. He also holds a master's degree in software development. Sergey’s career began in 1998 when he worked for a St. Petersburg-based IT outsourcing company and developed a geo-information system for Denmark. In 2004, he joined Starsoft (the predecessor of First Line Software), where he advanced from Junior Developer to Production Director. Based in St. Petersburg, Sergey is responsible for the continuous operation of the production department and the quality of the code being developed. He is engaged in the planning and balanced allocation of resources. Sergey is also responsible for developing the practice of Microsoft (Azure, EPI Server). Sergey oversees more than 70 professionals who create software solutions in sectors such as e-commerce, health IT, media, and others.
Sergey lives in St. Petersburg together with his family.
Anastasia Novoseltseva is a Marketing Executive with nearly 20 years of experience running high-performing Marketing teams across multiple industries - IT, Telecom, Energy, and FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods). From Marketing roles early in her career to the present, she has accumulated broad experience in all aspects of Global Marketing. Anastasia’s professional experience also includes consulting in marketing, business development, corporate strategy and development, telecom, construction, pharmaceuticals, and retail.
Anastasia holds multiple degrees including a Masters and Ph.D. in Engineering from St. Petersburg Electro-Engineering University and an MBA from Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School.
When Anastasia does have those rare moments of down time, she can be found enjoying a production at one of the many theaters in St. Petersburg, Russia, traveling locally and abroad, or reading of the many books on her reading list.
Ivo is the Managing Director of First Line Software in the Czech Republic. He is responsible for managing all operations of the local offices in Prague and Brno.
Ivo has a deep background in IT including hardware, software, development, administration and support. He is focused on driving company growth in central and west Europe. Ivo demonstrates his extensive knowledge of the IT industry - including large internet applications, logistics systems, industry automation and IoT systems - when consulting with prospects.
Ivo graduated from 2 universities and earned degrees in IT and electronics, and business management and finance.
Ivo’s long term IT and management experience started as the owner of a small IT company while pursuing his university studies. After spending a few years in the world of industrial automation he worked for an extensive period of time in various roles within the intralogistics automation industry for Knapp, a company based in Austria.
In 2016 Ivo joined First Line Software as the managing director of Prague’s office. After the successful startup and growth of First Line's Prague office a second office was opened in Brno.
Ivo enjoys travelling and you can often find him sailing on the Mediterranean Sea with his friends and family.
Marisa started her career as C/UNIX developer after graduating from Fanshawe College (London, Ontario) with a Business Information Systems diploma. Within a few years, she realized how much she enjoyed working with clients solving their business issues as much as solving their technical projects. For the next decade, Marisa worked for an accounts receivable management software developer with a focus on account and technical project management, strategic alliance partnerships and event management.
Marisa has been working for First Line Software since 2016 as a director for business development and operations.
Marisa and her husband recently moved to Portland, Maine from the Washington DC Metro Area. Her hobbies include photography, cooking and traveling.

Dr. Richard Mark Soley is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OMG®.
As Chairman and CEO of OMG, Dr. Soley is responsible for the vision and direction of the world's largest consortium of its type. Dr. Soley joined the nascent OMG as Technical Director in 1989, leading the development of OMG's world-leading standardization process and the original CORBA® specification. In 1996, he led the effort to move into vertical market standards (starting with healthcare, finance, telecommunications and manufacturing) and modeling, leading first to the Unified Modeling Language (UML®) and later the Model Driven Architecture® (MDA®). He also led the effort to establish the SOA Consortium in January 2007, leading to the launch of the Business Ecology Initiative (BEI) in 2009. The Initiative focuses on the management imperative to make business more responsive, effective, sustainable and secure in a complex, networked world, through practice areas including Business Design, Business Process Excellence, Intelligent Business, Sustainable Business and Secure Business. He is an active angel investor, and was involved in the creation of both the Eclipse Foundation and Open Health Tools.
Previously, Dr. Soley was a cofounder and former Chairman/CEO of A. I. Architects, Inc., maker of the 386 HummingBoard and other PC and workstation hardware and software. Prior to that, he consulted for various technology companies and venture firms on matters pertaining to software investment opportunities. Dr. Soley has also consulted for IBM, Motorola, PictureTel, Texas Instruments, Gold Hill Computer and others. He began his professional life at Honeywell Computer Systems working on the Multics operating system.
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A., Dr. Soley holds bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
